Tell Your College or Alma Mater You Want the Art Against Assault Tour to Visit

If you are a currently enrolled student or an alumni who wishes to support the Art Against Assault & JARRING III Book Tour, you can write to your special collections librarian or dean of student life using the letter below. This project has the potential to raise over $40,000 for rape crisis centers and survivor resources across the nation and I need your help to get the word out! Dear Special Collections Librarian or Dean of Student Life,

I’m an alum / a current student writing to you with a special request! Recently, I heard about an important project that supports sexual assault awareness on campus while raising funds for local survivor resources. The project, JARRING III, is a set of three artists’ books by artist Mirabelle Jones (MFA Book Arts Mills College) that share the true narratives of survivors of sexual assault. Not only are these handmade books stunning, but 100% of the proceeds from all book sales to special collections libraries will go towards supporting sexual assault survivor resources such as rape crisis centers, advocacy training, hotlines, group and individual counseling services, and more. The edition size is small (limited to 50) and it is my hope that you will consider purchasing one of the fifty sets for our campus’ collection or even inviting the artist to present them at our campus during the 2016 JARRING III Book Tour. I feel the books would be of tremendous value to our student survivors as well as to those students who are working in a variety of fields related to the subject of sexual assault and the resulting donation would represent our college’s commitment to supporting survivors of sexual assault in our community.
