San Francisco / Berlin (2012)
Artist’s Book in an Edition of 10 (Out of Print)
San Francisco / Berlin is a screw post bound series of acetate prints with translucent acrylic casing. A series of translucent and opaque diptychs, images from the artist’s travels, personify the dynamic character of each city. Here translucence serves as a metaphor for memory, the fragility of the acetate as well as the erasure embedded within the images issues the false impression of solidity just as our fragmented memories when compiled suggest the fabrication of a complete identity.
